Privacy Policy
POS it is a point-of-sale app for small shops, published by Xelorasoft. This policy describes what the app does with your shop's information. The short version: your records are kept on your device, the app contains no advertising and no analytics, and nothing leaves the phone unless you choose to send it.
Where your data lives
POS it stores your products, sales, customers, expenses and settings in a database on the device itself. Every screen reads and writes that local database, which is why the app keeps working with no network connection.
We do not have access to that data. It is not transmitted to Xelorasoft as a condition of using the app, and uninstalling the app removes it from the device along with everything in it.
Optional account and sync
The app offers an optional account so that a shop's data can be backed up and used on more than one device. This is opt-in. If you do not create an account, your records stay on the device and no shop data is sent to us.
If you do create an account, the shop data needed to provide that service — your products, sales, customers, expenses and shop settings — is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on our hosting provider's servers so it can be restored and kept in step across your devices. We use it to provide the sync and backup service, and for nothing else.
Backups you control
Backup and restore produce an ordinary file containing your shop's records. The app hands that file to your device's share sheet, and where it goes from there is your decision — your own storage, a messaging app, an email to yourself.
Treat a backup file as you would your books. It contains your sales and customer information in readable form, and anyone who has the file has that information.
Permissions, and when they are asked for
Nothing is requested when the app launches. Each permission is asked for at the moment it is first needed, so the reason is obvious.
Camera — to scan product barcodes and to take product photos. Images are stored on the device. Photos — to choose an existing picture for a product or your shop logo. Bluetooth — to find and connect to your receipt printer. On Android 11 and earlier the system also requires location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices; the app does not use your location for anything and does not record it. Biometrics — only if you turn on fingerprint or face unlock, and the check is performed by the device.
What the app does not do
POS it contains no advertising, no analytics or usage tracking, and no third-party marketing or profiling tools. It does not build a profile of you, your shop or your customers, and we do not sell or share shop data.
Customer records exist because a shopkeeper enters them in order to run their shop. If you record a customer's name or phone number in POS it, you are responsible for that information under whatever law applies where you trade.
Children
POS it is a tool for running a business and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can use POS it without an account. You can export a backup at any time. You can delete records inside the app, and uninstalling removes the local database.
If you have created an account and want the data held for it deleted, write to us at the address below and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, the updated version will be published here.
